HP-1
Tilt Latch System for Hung Style Vinyl Windows
Lowell, IN— Central to Ashland’s
HP-1 design was the desire to significantly increase the structural
and impact strength of hung style vinyl windows for hurricane
prone coastal regions.
With
a steady trend of hurricanes predicted in upcoming years, the
HP-1 comes at a critical time to raise the performance rating
from DP-35 up to DP-65, to help meet Dade County hurricane
ratings. By uniquely
allowing the hardware to integrate deep within the wall studs
of the home and window sash reinforcement, the HP-1 boasts
superior structural strength for heavy wind loads up to 165
mph. In addition, the system delivers improved water
and air infiltration during common wind load by maintaining
a tight compression of the weather seal in the closed and locked
position of the window.
The HP-1 is constructed from high-impact strength
thermoplastic and stainless steel for dependable performance
and added corrosion protection in abusive coastal applications.
The consumer can also experience a very intuitive operation
and immediate acceptance from the HP-1’s traditional
latch operation and appearance.
