New Integrated functionality for latches and locks that promotes enhanced security and performance rating, fast window fabrication, ease of use, and a distinct streamline appearance for hung style windows.

LOWELL, IN— In the latest effort to raise the bar for latch and lock technology, Ashland Hardware Systems unveiled a new hardware that integrates the tilt and lock function of hung style vinyl windows.  Central to Ashland’s integration technology, called DualTech™, is a simple intuitive operation with a clean lock rail appearance, yet delivers the performance and security level that exceed industry standards.

For smooth and quick system integration into existing window designs, DualTech automatically adapts to a large range of profile designs and offsets in the industry.  With Flex-Fit™ technology, the connection bars flex laterally with the latch and lock units to create a custom fit into many profile designs.  Sash fabrication for the entire system is also very simple, requiring a basic one-step route operation for both the latch and lock.

The entire system is offered in three sub-assemblies for quick out-of-the-box installation.  No banding, threading, crimping or gearing required for connecting the system.  With the choice of three different extension bar lengths that snap quickly into position, attachment is incredibly simple and precise.  The entire systems can be installed in less than 30 seconds.

DualTech’s functionality is also friendly for consumers.  To tilt the sash, the window requires nothing more than a simple swing of the levers to operate the entire DualTech system.  With universal symbols displayed on the lock’s surface, first-time operation is very intuitive for the consumer.  In addition, two lock points are provided on the window sash to offer additional safety and protection against intruders.  Consumers are now required to use two hands to tilt in the window sash for safe and controlled operation.

Designed with structural codes and reliability in mind, DualTech holds up to 400 pounds of static load to deliver confidence against the most extreme coastal conditions. By integrating a robust glass-filled nylon latch below the surface of the sash, and preserving the structure of the weld bead, DualTech allows maximum profile strength at critical areas of the window sash.  Additionally, DualTech passed over 16,000 cycles (over 4 times the industry standards), to deliver the dependability and reliability that is at the heart of DualTech.

DualTech combines streamline lock visuals with a concealed tilt latch to achieve a cleaner premium appearance and true market distinction.  A new stand-alone lock and latch are offered to provide an economical solution for the upper sash, provide a uniform look for slider windows, and provide vastly increased structural performance as separate latch application.  All the popular powder paint colors are available as well, including high-end finishes to blend perfectly with your window system.
