The goods and services offered by Piedmont Hardware Brands or its subsidiaries (including without limitation Ashland Hardware) or affiliates (collectively “Piedmont,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) include the website at www.ashlandhardware.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy states the terms under which your Personal Information (defined below) and non-identifying information about you is collected and used when you access the Site or submit such information in order to receive goods or services from Piedmont.

1. Information Collected by Piedmont

Personal Information

“Personal Information” means all personally-identifiable information (including without limitation your name, mailing address, telephone number, or e-mail address) that you submit via the Site. Piedmont does not collect Personal Information unless you voluntarily submit such information to us when you use the Site. For example, we collect Personal Information when you: (i) request information from us regarding certain goods or services, or (ii) consent to receive commercial/promotional email, direct mail or SMS/text messages about upcoming promotions or events.

Information Gathered Automatically

Piedmont automatically collects certain non-identifying information about you (such as your movement about the Site) in order to help you navigate the Site more efficiently. A “cookie” is a piece of data that is stored on your computer and that is tied to such non-identifying information about you. Piedmont may store cookies on your computer’s hard drive in order to collect certain non-identifying data about your visits to the Site. You are responsible for all telecommunications charges relating to your use of the Site, including but not limited to any charges for SMS/text messages that are sent to you by Piedmont.

3. Third-Party Websites

We may permit certain third parties to link to our Site, and the Site may contain links to third-party websites. Piedmont is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of such third parties websites. When linking to a third-party website, you should read the privacy policy stated on that website. This Privacy Policy only governs Personal Information and non-identifying information collected on the Site.

4. Correcting/Updating or Removing Personal Information

5. Additional Privacy Protections for Children

The Site is not designed for or targeted to children under the age of 13. Piedmont will never knowingly collect information from or about a child under the age of 13. Any information submitted to the Site about a child under the age of 13 will be deleted. Any information that Piedmont reasonably believes originated from a child under the age of 13 will be deleted.

Piedmont has reasonable security measures in place to protect Personal Information you submit to the Site. While no computer system or server is completely secure, we believe the measures we implement reduce security problems.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, Piedmont cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information. When you communicate with us electronically or otherwise submit your Personal Information, your communication is not necessarily secure and is subject to all of the risks of communication, such as unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors that may compromise the security of Personal Information at any time.  Piedmont assumes no responsibility for the security of any Personal Information you submit. Piedmont reserves the right to update or otherwise alter our security practices if and when we deem appropriate. 

7. Information Retention

We will retain your Personal Information and any information that we automatically collect for as long as the information is needed to provide you with the services that you request, or until you choose to remove the information. You understand that deleted information may persist for a reasonable period of time in backup copies but will not be available to others.

We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post any modified Privacy Policy on this page. You should visit this page periodically to identify and understand any changes made to this Privacy Policy. By continuing to access or use the Site after this Privacy Policy is modified, you agree to be bound by any such modifications.

This Site originates from the United States of America. Piedmont does not claim that the Site or the content and features of the Site are appropriate or may be used outside of the United States of America. Access to the Site or the content and features of the Site by certain persons or in certain countries may not be lawful. Any such access/use from outside of the United States of America is at your own risk and is subject to compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction.
